EUDPN attends 41st Annual EUFASA Conference in Berlin
25/5/25, 10:00
Together with 20 fellow MFA family associations from all over Europe, 14 Family Officers, and some guests from New Zealand, Norway, Sweden and Turkey, we discussed tools to advance the well-being of our diplomatic families.
Nadia von Bassewitz and Carolina Gallardo from EUDPN, as well as the EEAS Family Officer, took part in three jam-packed days of conference of our umbrella organisation, EUFASA AISBL, in Berlin.
The focus of this year's conference was employment support. The EUFASA Research Department (ERD) presented its latest survey on the employability of foreign service partners (which will be shared soon). The associations and FOs agreed on the need for more targeted employment support and exchanged best practice in this area. There is a lot of hope surrounding cross-border teleworking, but MFAs have yet to adopt guidelines at this stage.
Carolina will continue her excellent work in the EUFASA Working Group on Children. Meanwhile, Nadia will stay on as chair of the EUFASA Working Group on Legal Matters and remain a member of the EUFASA Working Group on Work and Employment. An important part of the conference is always the AGM of EUFASA, at which Nadia was elected to the EUFASA Board.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Daniel Welby and the organisation team from the German MFA family association (FFD) for hosting us in Berlin, for the excellent organisation, the warm hospitality, and for the wealth of new ideas and initiatives.
